The TOEFL Preparation program is designed to provide comprehensive, practical experience in the range of skills necessary to successfully complete the TOEFL examination. The course is structured around a weekly skills focus which gives intensive practice in the requisite competencies for each of the four TOEFL exam modules. The course builds incrementally to equip students for every aspect of the TOEFL examination requirements.



The TOEFL Preparation program is a twelve week course designed
to develop the specific language skills of students preparing to take
the TOEFL Examination. This program will target the Reading,
Writing, Listening and Speaking competencies that are required to
successfully complete the 5 examination papers involved in the
TOEFL exam. Particular attention will be paid to improving students'
examination skills within the TOEFL constraints.

The course will provide practical guidance in the development and
application of linguistic skills relevant to TOEFL examination
requirements including vocabulary, grammar, text production and
analysis and listening and speaking.

Weekly practice tests based on sample TOEFL exam materials will provide an assessable framework to effectively gauge student progress. In-class follow-up activities will encourage students to cultivate self assessment skills to monitor and refine their own development.

Assessment

Students will be assessed through classroom tasks and practice tests.


The weighting of assessments will be as follows:

Entry Requirements

Students entering this course are required to have an IELTS level of 4 or equivalent.


Additional information:

Please note If you fail your TOEFL Pre-Arrival test, you will be placed in the General English course prior to starting your TOEFL Exam Preparation Course. The length of the General English course will be determined based on your TOEFL Pre-Arrival Test results
