Individuals with this qualification are able to work in any sector of the tourism industry as a senior departmental manager, manager or owner–operator of any style of small tourism business. Some managers at this level will specialise in certain fields; in the tourism industry personnel tend to specialise in operational functions or marketing and product development roles.

Pre-Requisites

Academic Level Required
Australian Year 12 equivalent or higher

English Level Required*
Successful completion of the entry requirements for Upper
Intermediate level at APC or IELTS (International English
Language Testing System) proficiency level of 5.5
(minimum 5.0 in writing) or above.

RPL/Credit Transfer

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)/Credit Transfer (From Australian Registered Training Organisations Only)

Students may be eligible to obtain credits for individual modules as a result of experience gained in employment in the relevant business fields or from previous training or education.
A fee is payable for assessing your RPL status.

Pathways/Articulations

Students who successfully complete Diploma and and Advanced Diploma courses at Australian Pacific College have the opportunity to continue to our partner universities through our articulation pathways program. This program means that students are entitled to course credit towards their undergraduate degree at the partner university.

Our flexible timetable gives you choices of location and study time.


Diploma of Tourism is available at our City and Bondi campuses in the morning.

Sample Timetable

APC vocational students complete their timetable selection online and are able to select their preferred subjects and locations. APC's range of locations and shifts provide maximum opportunities for flexibility of choice.

Classes will be timetabled on Thursdays and Fridays. (subject to change without notice)

Additional Tutorials may be scheduled for anytime from Monday to Friday.

Timetables may vary slightly from campus to campus.

Lectures and tutorials may be mixed and each student will study a total of 20 scheduled, face to face hours per week for each 9 week term they are enrolled in.
