Australian Pacific College Trainer & Assessor in Graphic Design - Jennifer Onn

Jenni Onn

Trainer & Assessor in Graphic Design

The students at Australian Pacific College are the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with.

I am an author/illustrator with many published works still in print with various Australian publishers. I’ve painted several giant murals for commercial premises as well as backdrops for live performances. I studied Advanced Manuscript Illumination and Calligraphy at the Abbey Museum of Art and Technology. I’ve designed and created several science and technology based magazines as well as fun magazines for kids. I developed a series of art-teacher-replacement drawing manuals and turned them into an online course which I marketed successfully for a number of years. I worked as in-house Illustrator for a Brisbane publisher and created interactive animated graphics for their digital books.

In the early dot com era I enjoyed being Art Director for a law firm based IT company and specialised in both front end and back end user experience web design, before it became the buzz word it is today. The best thing about that role was the gorgeous city and river views from my lovely glass walled office. I’ve worked in Graphic Design since it was called Commercial Art, when advertising and art studios used pen, ink, bromides and paste-up at a time when a designer was a highly skilled technician with no easy ‘undo’ features in their work. For fun I love to travel and write about it. On weekends I enjoy spending time with my family and my best bud, of the four legged kind.
