In my role as trainer I am able to use my years of industry experience to inform and inspire the next generation of fashion designers.
I was born in Italy and came to Australia when I was 10 years old. I always imagined I would be a designer because I loved drawing and fashion. I have been designing for my label Deborah Selleck Couture since 1997, creating bespoke bridal and evening wear. My passion for teaching started in 2010 when I realised that many hands-on skills in the fashion industry were being lost due to increased imports. I felt it was time to inspire the new generation of designers to ensure Australia has a thriving fashion industry now and in the future.
