The TAESS00021 Facilitation Skill Set prepares participants to deliver nationally recognised units of competency and accredited courses. It develops the skills and knowledge needed to facilitate effective training, engage learners in interactive environments, and adapt delivery to meet diverse learner needs.

This Skill Set is suited to individuals facilitating training within registered training organisations (RTOs) or workplace settings, including the delivery of nationally recognised training for trainees and apprentices.

Builds skills in:

  • Supporting competency-based assessment and interpreting units of competency and performance criteria

  • Assisting with fair, valid, and reliable assessment decisions

  • Facilitating learning in workplace and simulated environments

  • Collecting, reviewing, and reporting assessment evidence, including providing clear and constructive learner feedback

Course Structure

The TAESS00021 Facilitation Skill Set is designed to prepare learners for support and facilitation roles within the vocational education and training (VET) sector. The course focuses on developing practical skills to support training delivery under supervision across a range of education and workplace contexts.

Graduates may work under supervision as VET facilitators or assistant trainers, supporting training delivery for trainees and apprentices, or assisting industry trainers and training teams.

Units of Competency

This course comprises the following nationally recognised units that provide credit towards TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment:

  • TAEDEL411 – Facilitate vocational training
    Develops the skills to facilitate effective, inclusive, and engaging vocational training sessions in a range of learning environments.
  • TAEDES412 – Design and develop plans for vocational training
    Builds skills in planning and preparing structured vocational training sessions aligned with units of competency and learner needs.

Skill Sets are nationally endorsed and outlined within Training Packages. They are shorter than full qualifications and typically consist of two or more units of competency designed to meet specific licensing or regulatory requirements, or clearly defined industry needs. 

Completing a Skill Set can also serve as a pathway to a full qualification, as the units of competency achieved may be credited towards the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

This nationally recognised Skill Set equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct assessments while working under supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

 
TAESS00024 VET Teacher Enhancement Skill Set

This nationally recognised Skill Set develops the skills and knowledge required to deliver and assess vocational education and training in a school environment.

Upon successful completion of this Skill Set, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the TAESS00021 Facilitation Skill Set, recognising your capability to facilitate vocational training under supervision.
