The TAESS00024 Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set equips qualified high school teachers with the skills and knowledge required to design, deliver, and assess VET in Schools (VETiS) programs in line with Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) requirements.

This Skill Set:

  • Aligns VET in Schools delivery and assessment with AQF requirements
  • Builds skills to design, deliver, and assess nationally recognised VET units in secondary school settings
  • Enables qualified teachers to deliver AQF-aligned VET units without RTO supervision
  • Expands professional scope and responsibility within school-based VET delivery
  • Supports compliant VETiS program management and delivery

Course Structure

This course is designed to develop the practical skills and knowledge required to conduct competency-based assessment activities within the vocational education and training (VET) sector. Learners will build capability in assessing skills in workplace and simulated environments, interpreting units of competency, and making fair, valid, and reliable assessment decisions in line with national standards.

Units of Competency

This course comprises the following nationally recognised units that provide credit towards TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment:

  • TAEASS412 – Assess competence
    Develops the skills to assess learner competence in workplace and simulated environments in accordance with assessment requirements.
  • TAEASS413 – Participate in assessment validation
    Builds capability to contribute to assessment validation activities to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance.
  • TAEDES411 – Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs
    Develops skills to interpret and apply training products to support effective training and assessment practices.
  • TAEDES412 – Design and develop plans for vocational training
    Builds capability to plan and develop structured vocational training sessions aligned to units of competency and learner needs.
  • TAEPDD401 – Work effectively in the VET sector
    Develops understanding of the VET sector, regulatory requirements, and professional practice expectations.

Skill Sets are nationally endorsed and outlined within Training Packages. They are shorter than full qualifications and typically consist of two or more units of competency designed to meet specific licensing or regulatory requirements, or clearly defined industry needs. 

Completing a Skill Set can also serve as a pathway to a full qualification, as the units of competency achieved may be credited towards the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

This nationally recognised Skill Set equips participants with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct assessments while working under supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

 
TAESS00021 Facilitation Skill Set

This nationally recognised Skill Set develops the skills and knowledge required to facilitate training under supervision in the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

 

Upon successful completion of this Skill Set, you will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the TAESS00024 Teacher Enhancement Skill Set, recognising your capability to deliver VET courses in secondary school settings in line with AQF requirements.
