A very warm welcome to our new students, and a sincere welcome back to our continuing students across all of our campuses.

In learning, it is often said that the journey is just as important as the destination. I know from my own personal experience that who we decide to share that journey with, has a big impact on the final destination. So thank you, for choosing us as part of your journey.

In a world of rapid technological developments, financial and political instability, and with COVID still fresh in our memory, it is understandable if you find yourself seeking safety by focusing inwards and minimising exposure to such risks, including spending less time around other people.

While the future of cognitive and physical work may be handled by machines, your unique human value lies in the ethical and creative work (decisions) that prioritise looking after one another.

Your learning journey and needs will change throughout your lifetime, and education is here to prepare you for anything; not everything. As such, education should help you make sense and meaning, and not just reproduce knowledge.

To support you, our learner, this year we are expanding work-based learning (WBL) with the official launch of the eX program (education powered by experience). In the coming weeks there will be webinars and on-campus information sessions about eX and we invite you to register to attend and co-create your learning journey with us.

Across all campuses, we are also expanding our events calendar for you to have more opportunities to connect, share and learn from each other. Together with eX, we are excited to offer you more opportunities to learn in the real world and experience different perspectives as they are practiced.

While some things are outside of our control, we have the power within ourselves to decide how we respond in those moments and who we share our future journeys with.

At the start of 2026, let us pause and reflect on the wonderful choices we are fortunate to have. Let’s get creative, support one another, and shape the future we wish to see together.
